Dinner meet up.

November 14, 2008

I had a dinner meet up with my friend to celebrate her belated B’day. We suppose to arrange to go JB for dinner last weekend but she can’t make it due to another dinner commitment with her boss. Thus the postpone till to today.

We went Rong Guan BBQ Seafood @ Alexandra village. http://www.sbestfood.com/rongguang for their BBQ since she said she had craving for BBQ. There are so much good food there. I tried the Satay, crystal dumplings, Ang Ku Kueh, Claypot Laksa (I feel it taste so so but HUb said good) and the famous Avocado milkshake. Here’s the link http://sparklette.net/archives/tag/alexandra-village/ .

After the our dinner, we went to Mount Faber Park to walk and help digestion and also we wanted to try out the Henderson Waves since we did the Forest Walk and Alexandra Arch near the HortPark. We have our guide (Carine) to led the way as she done the hike twice with her Scout’s unit 1 was done in the day while the other was on the night.

One of this day… We will do a long hike from the Canopy Walk @ Kent Ridge Park that links to Hort park then hike all the way to Marang Trail just behind the Harbourfront MRT Station to have our dinner at Seah Imm Hawker Centre.

Anyone want to join in for this hike? Maybe can park your car at our place then take bus to & fro.

It was the long weekend. We went marketing in the morning after packing the foods up and clear the stuffs; we head down to my grand nephew 1 year old birthday party. We hang around there till abt 5pm then left for our dinner. As Carine still had to study for the coming exam thus was she was stuck at home with my SIL to do her revisions. While the twins and helper went off with my sisters for their dinner. dscn0560x My Grand nephew.

After dinner, Hub, Glen and I went window shopping at Central Mall at Clarke Quay. I didn’t thought of getting any stuffs thought I’m aiming for an oven for the past few days as my old one was half down cos one of it thermostat was not working already. I was looking at Rowenta as I heard good point abt it but they are way off my budget. While at the mall wasting our time I went to Harvey Norman for a look. The 1st thing was to look at the vacuum cleaner as ours was down suddenly in the morning. I got the hitch the wire came loose but I haven’t had the time to take a look as we were rushing for the party. So we just get the price and worked abt it tomorrow. (Btw it was true, the wire came loose. I had to cut the wire and reconnect it to the plug and it works fine after that.)

Since I was there I went to check out their oven section and viola I found the one that was within my budget and it was also slightly bigger in size (34L). The price was the main attraction. The usual price was $243 but they was selling at a steal of $120+. I immediately went over to hub side to ask for “permission” and “help” cos I need him to carry it to his car. dscn0599

As it was the long weekend and we had nothing much on after shopping, we thought we may as well meet up with the group at the same time check out the next travel place and the next Bday celebration arrangement for the month of Nov.

We met up quite late as one of them got travel fair to attend. The place we went for our supper was at 126 (try make a guess where this place is) @ around 10.20pm. The 1st to arrival was RN and M followed by us and then was M, D, J n RA as they need to search for a parking space. Not like RN so daring, park at the place we had the most expensive Durians in this whole wide world with 3 cars all kana with a $70 traffic tickets. Another surprise was M the 10pm Cinderella was there too for this met up.

Since RA and J need to work the next day, I thought we would be dispersed after supper which ends about 12am. But oh no they all still had the mood and energy for singing thus we head down to the latest Party World @ Liang Court to Sing K till 3am.

Meg had improved a lot from her previous tried out as she had gone to sing twice on her own. While me and J will always be the GA listeners but we do sing for the fun of it. Hub had improved too but not sure it’s due to the beer? I’ll check it out the next time. While D was quite then usual maybe due to her she was on another session till 10 am from the previous night. Too tired or stone to sing much. R n M n R is still the same… good singers. dscn0572xx dscn0574x dscn0590x

Grands Amis gather time

September 12, 2008

What does Grands Amis means… its means Great Friends in France! This is the name I gave to this group of great pals.

I would like to thanks every one of you (you know who you are) to be stuck as great friends for the past 10 over years. It’s so difficult to be stuck as a group as old friends are like gold (maybe Oil as now) while new are like silver.

I hereby wish that our FRIENDSHIP will continue to GROW strongly and stay in contact always if possible as mostly are busy building up their Career and love life. I do hope our group will grow with more good friends to be added in too.

We had a Chinese buffet last night as a birthday celebration with D at Excelsior Hotel River City Restaurant. We all had a bloated stomach full with food!

After dinner, they decided to go Party World to Sing K but me and Hub are usually the listener cos I don’t like or I can’t  really sing. As for him, he’s thinks he’s not good unless some Hokkien song. But after he drank his beer… Oops! Hub started to sing and even sing a song for me. LOL! Everyone had a good laugh as he change the lyrics of the song. Me so touch.

The fun part was our Spice Gals concert. We girls sang songs from the Spice gals and dance with the music. We had so much fun. Think there are lots of first timer beside me and hub who seldom sing. Another friend M must had a wonderful night too cos we all also 1st timer, we keep singing we 1st time heard her too. We had a crazy and funny fun time till 3am.

Maybe we can do it again!

I promise to do it up but it’s either no time or I forgoten about it. Since it was suppose to be posted on the starting of the year but never mind I post it here so that some of the members (2 of you) can view what we did over there as your timing did not allow you to join us as a big family trip. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Some things are worth seeing @ Macau.

@ Wynn Macau Hotel

* Tree of Prosperity

Featuring spectacular and sparkling movement of kinetic sculptures, video, light and music, the Tree of Prosperity performance is designed to thrill and excite guests as they enter Wynn Macau. The atrium depicts Chinese and western astrological symbols, and includes a crystal chandelier, and a first-of-its-kind golden tree, symbolizing auspiciousness. - It’s a show worth watching.

* Performance lake

Lofty plumes of water and fire dance to music and permeate the lush surroundings… a commanding presence with vibrantly kinetic expressions provides joyful and fascinating entertainment. - Like our Sentosa Muscial Fountain show.

We have our Big Family gathering again. Is always so hard to arrange with this group of friends. Everyone is busy with their own stuffs. This time round at least 3 members can’t make it but we may have additional 1 or 2 more members to be added soon. Hope this family will grow and stay together always. It’s so hard to find the right group of friends that have almost the same frequency.

This gathering is to celebrate a belated B’day for R. We will always try to celebrate each other B’day but almost every time esp this year is belated one. That’s due to forgetfulness or timing not able to meet. It’s such a difficult task to try gather everyone at time. Especially J our ”Daughter” have been missing for the pass meet up. The last time if not wrong should be last year or after CNY? How she had grown we also don’t know. Haha…

We went T3 again for our dinner at Swensen then process to The Villa Bali for drinks. I like that place… it has such a wonderful surrounding that it make you forgot you are in Sin. I would definitely be going there again.
