I had waited so long for this Malacca trip (almost 1.5yrs). I really missed the foods there. We no longer go to the place of interest to take photos but more like a food trip when we step into Malacca.

Let me see… But Kut The, Chicken Rice Balls, Satay Celup, Chendol, Wanton Mee, Laksa, Nyonya Food esp. the Pong Teh Chicken, Ayam Buah Keluak, Assam Fish, KangKong Belacan, Cinchalok Omelet and so much more, As for the Kuehs there are Pineapple tarts, Kueh Dadar, Kueh Lapis, Kueh Talam, kids and my flavourite Onde Onde and so many more. I just choose and pick 2 each. There are still having the Portuguese food at Portuguese Square and Ikan Bakar.

We departed on Fri afternoon around 2.30pm after Hub half day work thus only manage to reach Malacca about 7+8pm. After our check in, we straight away went to have our dinner.  After our dinner we went to the Eye on Malaysia to take a look. The twins wanted to give it a try but we already tried our Flyer, Hub and I agreed it was not worth taking a ride. After which we went back to have our rest after such a “long trip” with 8 of us “squeezed” into our “XiaoHe”.

Day 2- Abt 10am, we went to have our usual But Kut The (BKT) at the usual place. Our 1st time there, Glen was abt 5 or 6 yrs old. Their soup is different from our version. It’s sweeter and had herbal taste thus the younger one love the soup.

After breakfast, we went to Jonker Street to try and get some Kuehs and Pineapple tarts. But not before going to the oldest temple Cheng Hoon Teng temple for praying. Hub always has to go to this temple each time he visit Malacca. To thanks for our safe journey to and fro. His 1st visit was yrs back, after he prayed there, the week after our return… he was granted his wish of 1st price on our previous car no. But we were busy with work that we forgot to buy. He asked, he got his wish but forgot to buy. Now I don’t pray for luck I usually pray for Ping An and Soon Li for everyone in my family.

After praying, we went walking, shopping and snacking along Jonker Street. We walk passed Chicken rice ball but still full from the BKT and snacks of Nyonya Kuehs from the road side stalls. After the stroll from the end to start of Jonker Street the foods in our stomach was half digested. We were also hot and thirsty thus went to try the famous Chendol and Laksa to share.

We headed back to get our swimming stuffs to meet up with our friend who was staying over at Makota area. Hub brought the kids for their swim while he kindly dropped my sis and me at the latest shopping centre for our shopping trip. We only had abt 2.5 hours to shop before meeting them (18 more people) for Nyonya dinner at 7pm. I booked 2 tables as I thought they had 13 people but lucky the place is not full yet so was able to get another small table for the other 5. This time we gave Nyonya Makko Rtn a tried. Good food and service too. After dinner we decided meet up at Jonker Street for the night market as they were still waiting for their coach while we drive. We didn’t head there straight. Instead we went to Taming Sari Tower height @ 110 meter for a ride to have a bird eye view of Malacca night scenery. It cost RM$20 and RM$10 for foreigner adult and kid respectively while local is half the price. (When will our local place of interest like Sentosa, Flyer and so on… learn from them half price for local?)

We didn’t manage to try all the food I craved for b4 this trip. If we could extend another day, we would be able to try most of it. The kids were all very funny and worried cos they will asked Hub were we be eating again as there I went again into another shop to buy snacks or desserts while their previous meal haven’t even digested yet. Hub keeps giving me another kind of worried look…that was “why are you having all these craving… are u…?” Is not like that, I eat my foods in mouthful and shared with them while they had their own meal thus the different on digestion right?

But even that didn’t help cos I put on 2kgs just on this trip alone. I hope next year I’m able to go back there again and this time round maybe just me and hub so I can shop and eat my fill. (Turn myself to a pig?) Wahaha….
